My love of art and creating started in my first memories, around 1st grade, when my dad drew a horse and told me to try and copy it. I tried and tired, my first was a stick horse with a bucket head. After a few tries my horse came out also similar to my dad's drawing. I was so proud I ran and showed him my accomplishment. That started my love of art with my parents encouragement.
Since than I have always enjoyed the outcome of my creations. As I got older I had less and less time to focus on drawing, for my 16th birthday my dad bought me an big yellow underwater camera. This was great, I could capture moments quickly that I could not capture as quickly in a drawing. With my big yellow camera there were two options for zoom, normal view and if I pushed one button the image got a bit closer, that was about all it did. I did not care, I loved to take pictures and it went under water! I would try and find different ways to use my big, cumbersome point and shoot underwater camera to get different effects.
Once I hit college I took a photography class, however I was a money-poor student, so one of my friends gave me her film SLR camera that she never used. It was a film camera, the light meter was in the view finder with two lenses. One was a telephoto and one was a standard short lens, however the camera had no flash. It was not a nice camera by any strech of the imagination, even though, I was hooked on photography.
I love photography, I look at it as art, something interesting hanging on a wall, a drawing in light.
I believe a photograph tells a story, catches an unexpected emotion, frames a memory to hold tight.
A photograph is a representation of life experiences.
A photograph creates a story, a legacy, a memory.
It is priceless.
A photograph is a memory keeper for all time.
Using natural light in a photojournalistic style is my preference. I enjoy coming to your home, a park, a cool alley, a great place to caputre your new baby and nursery, your pregnant belly, your bouncy kids....family, engagement, weddings, senior shots
I want to capture what makes you, YOU!
A beautiful backdrop of a park or the texture of an alley with weather wood or rough brick adds to your individual photo shoot.
During a shoot you can expect some direction on certain photos as well as getting those unexpected photos that are so endearing.
It is all about you, I will listen and implement your ideas as well.
